Benefits of Framed Artwork in Gallery Spaces
Professionally framed artwork often:
- Creates a stronger first impression
- Improves visual consistency
- Enhances perceived value
- Helps artwork feel exhibition-ready
- Simplifies installation and display
- Improves presentation for collectors
Presentation has always played an important role in the art world. While the artwork itself remains the primary focus, the way it is displayed influences how viewers, collectors, and curators experience it. For this reason, floating frames have become one of the most widely used framing solutions in contemporary galleries.
Unlike traditional picture frames, floating frames create a small shadow gap around the canvas, giving the appearance that the artwork is suspended within the frame. This subtle detail produces a sophisticated, museum-quality presentation that complements the artwork while preserving the visible edges of the canvas.
For galleries, consistency is often just as important as aesthetics. A solo exhibition may include twenty or more works in varying dimensions, while a group exhibition may feature pieces from several artists. Using a consistent floating frame style helps unify the presentation and creates a more professional viewing experience.
Cost management is another important consideration. Traditional custom framing can represent a significant expense for galleries and artists preparing exhibitions. Floating frames provide a practical alternative by offering a premium appearance while remaining more affordable and easier to install.
Kolekin floating frames are particularly well suited for gallery environments thanks to their lightweight aluminum construction, professional finishes, and extensive selection of more than 1,800 frame combinations. Galleries can maintain a cohesive presentation across diverse collections while avoiding the complexity and cost of custom framing every piece individually.
For galleries and artists who regularly frame multiple works, the Kolekin Artist Club provides additional advantages through quantity-based pricing. Whether preparing a solo exhibition, restocking gallery inventory, outfitting an art fair booth, or framing artwork for collectors, the Artist Club helps reduce framing costs while maintaining a gallery-quality presentation.
From emerging artist showcases to established commercial galleries, floating frames continue to be one of the most effective and widely accepted ways to present contemporary canvas artwork professionally.
